Wood around climate control

I found this picture on e-Bay of a Bose radio for sale with the attached pic. I noticed it has the plastic wood around the climate control. Why does that have it and I don't? Thats not a dash kit either. Just wondering becuase I hate the black plastic at the top of my dash.

I have a 97 GLE and I have all the wood you mentioned except the climate control and clock. Mine looks like this: http://imagehosting.bidbay.com/image.php3?imgID=607234
So does the 98 have wood around the clock too?

The wood around the clock can be obtaned by ordering the piece from a wood interior Cefiro.

So I can get the wood from either an I30 or a Cefiro? Both fit and match my existing wood trim?

yup infini and maxima have 100% same interior. I am looking for same stuff, since my GLE has only minimal wood panels, and i wana to finish it all way for reasonable price say under $50 but cannot find places where I can get remaining pieces? or even pricings!

I have removed both the clock and climate control before and its not hard but takes a little time. Follow this link to get you started: http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNisMax2.htm Then take the AC assembly out and pop the tabs all around the edges and the faceplate comes off.

you cannot remove wood, the best one is to buy new kit and apply it over wood panels.

Which wood can you not remove? I would buy a dash kit but I can't justify spending that much money for 2 little pieces when I could put it towards other things.

found something

Found this yesterday... it's a factory match kit for a 95 I30, which I am not positive would match but it's probable...

this has all 6 front vents, the area around/under the dash, the side mirror surround, but NOT THE CLIMATE CONTROL! and it costs $148 (20% off sale ended yesterday)

If anyone has clout with this company (Joshua Tree) tell them to make a "GLE completion set" and sell it to org members for say $50...
