This is a story about why it can suck to have a car with good brakes: So I'm taking my girl out for her birthday with some friends and I'm being followed by one of her friends in his Sebring. I'm about to go through a yellow light and I decide he won't make it and I hit the brake so he does not get lost in the heavy traffic. Next thing I know BAM!! I get nailed at about 15MPH; he thought I was going to shoot the light, so he gunned it and I hit brakes. I was sitting without my foot on the brake and not it gear when he hit me so my max took the shock well. Those bumpers are not bad at all... no damage except for a couple of slight scratches.

If he really hit you at 15mph. You may want to get the frame checked out. I got hit at the speed and it bent my frame.

i rear ended a vette and a 3rd gen max. both time was at stop light and not paying attention and slowly let the brake go. with the vette i accelerated seeing that the two lane on the left and right were both making their turns so i figured my light was green so i stepped on the gas. both cases i hit the other persons car pretty hard. my front bumper had no scratches or dents or anything. i was scared about the vette but luckily no scratches for him either. can't say the same about the 3rd gen max tho. up close can't see the dent but when he drove off i saw a big *** dent

For future reference, next time just go through the light and if he stops, stop on the right side of the road and put your hazards on. Or, you can just pull into a parking lot and turn around so that your facing out, and when his light turns green, just pull out in front of him.

Woh similar thing happened to me, I was driving in Fullerton (Impreial Hwy) and my friend was following me in his 92 Corrolla DX. A light turned yellow, I slammed on brakes, looked back, saw the corrolla, then decided to gun it and run the red light. My friend ran it to then called me on the cell phone and said, "Thanks for running that I was going to hit you pretty hard."

My Max with SS brake lines and Porterfield pads stops pretty quickly (Also has ABS).

No wonder he didn't stop in time. The brakes on Sebrings are the biggest garbage... even upgrading doesn't help. That car is a TOTAL POS anyway - like every good chrysler. =)

Thank God my mom sold hers.
