what is the best exhaust setup for the '95 5spd?

I have a 95 5spd, 178,800 miles, with origional piping, except for a SS Stillen muffler. I am looking for more/better power on the top end. I don't really care for the 1/4. I also have the cone filter stillen sells. all input received is greatly appreciated.

Instead of getting a cat-back, get the aftermarket Y-Pipe. That will yeild better gains. Then maybe a straight pipe.

I recomend that you get a downpipe from stillen or cattman, and have a custom 2.5 in catback made, at a muffler shop

If I were starting with a clean slate, I'd install a...

-Place cold air intake
-Cattman Y-Pipe
-R/T Catalytic Converter
-GReddy Cat-Back Exhaust System (B-Pipe & Muffler)

If you are running a naturally aspirated engine, the stock-size pipes are fine. If you are running with boost, you may wish to consider 3" pipes. One area of agreement seems to be that the sum is greater than its parts. Good luck.
