tires size...

what's up guys (and girls). i'm about to bid on some tires on e-bay. i'm not sure if these tires will work though. i got bigger rims so i'm itching to put them on. the rim size is 16x7, +50mm offset, momo corse. the tires i am looking at are:

V Rated Bridgestone Potenza's size 205 60 16 RE92

Bridgestone Potenza RE92 205/55 R16 V-rated

oh, i just realized they are basically the same thing, but hey, will they work? i'm not too familiar about those sizes, but my friends and the dude i bought the rims from suggested a few sizes, and these are right in the middle.

Definetly don't go for the one with the 60 height. It won't look good on your car. Go with the one with 55 or maybe even 50. Also, I think the 205 is too small. Go with 225 or at least 215

cool...

thanks a lot, i'll check out some other places then. also, it'd be great if someone could explain how these tire sizes work. i know the last number goes with what rim size they will fit on, but i wasn't too sure about the first two numbers. any info would be great, thanks a lot.

Example: 225/50R16 89V

225=the width of tire in mm, measured from sidewall to sidewall
50=hieght of the sidewall
R16= raduis of the tire in inches
89= represents tire's load index
V= Speed rating the maximum speed for which the tire is rated.

I would go with 225/50ZR16 if you don't mind the wheel gap. Going with a +50 offset might rub on your wheel well.
