Just ordered Stillen y-pipe!!!

On thursday i ordered a stillen y-pipe from paul at avalon racing for $340 shipped. Should I upgrade my transmisson now becasue of the extra hp? I was thinking about getting a tranny cooler and maybe a trans-go shift kit. What do you guys think?

It would not sound like a honda. The Cattman does the exact same thing as the Stillen. The Stillen is in two separate peices, unlike the Cattman. This make the stealin ypipe prone to leaks.
If you have the stock exhaust, you will probably never know the pipe is there. Now get a Greddy Catback and the engine will sound like a small block V8.
good luck.

Brian i was commenting on the quality of the y-pipes when i said it would sound like a honda(when the flex section goes). My borther had his for like a week and the flex section is already done and i know your pipe had problems too so i went with the Stillen. Well see which is better from the eye aspect later this week if you want to help me install it.

Adam there are MANY memebers on here who can attest to the quality of the Cattman flex section vs. other pipes. Your brother's problem is completely irrelevant in your situation. He was missing an exhaust hanger that caused his flex to snap.
And in my case....I BROKE my pipe by accidentaly going over that huge curb....it would have broke a stock pipe too.
good luck with the STEALIN

How do you go over a curb w/o seeing it there?

I have the Stillen 2 piece and iave had it for about a month now. It already leaks.

BTW-you do not have to up teh tranny for teh y-pipe. A tranny cooler owuld be a nice investment regardless of mods. If you are worried about your tranny, go talk to Don in Texas about the vb mod.

yeah, i dont think you realy have to worry about your tranny unless your running something more than a 50 shot NOS. Good luck with your over priced Y-pipe from stealin'

It wasn't really a curb...it was one of those big triangle things that are sometimes put at the entrances to parking lots so you can only enter by turning right...and exit by turning right....it was a little lower than the level of the street...and it was dusk...so I didn't even see it unitl I went over it. My 2 passengers didn't see it either...at first I thought I got rear-ended....I'm very careful around parking lot entrances now

I have the Stillen Y and bought it because it has not had any problems reported besides leaks that are VERY easily fixed. How you ask? Just weld the Focker together like me I also bought it because it is the LOUDEST one. Add the CAI, RT cat, and 3" dual exhaust and you have a car that is LOUDER and LOWER than a lot of 5.0 rustangs. What you put on your car should reflect your style and preferences. Some people just to save money and when they list off their mods to others some of them feel bad about certain parts they bought. While others that only go with top end parts/names do not feel ashamed. Every time I tell people what I've done I enjoy the looks I get when I say "Stillen"....people jsut know the name and that they are great products for high prices.

Kirk- Your sig isn't bad, buty CHI99limiteds causes me to have to scroll to read all of the messages cause the image is too wide. I have my monitor's resolution set at 800x600 on this computer. I think at the old age of 19 my computer use is starting to make my eyesite go to ****.

My sig is NOT MedicSonic approved. I keep it long because I enjoy people telling me to shorten it(Medic, bill99, mzmtg...) The good thing is that I only allow it to be posted once per page on threads. Be thankful that it isnt as long as it was...add about 10 lines of text
