Highest mileage

My 95 GXE just hit 130k yestaday with no problem so far. It still run as strong as ever. I just wonder how many more miles do you think I could squeeze out from my max.

Thanks
Andy

My old car, three months ago before I bought my max, had 196,000 miles. It was a '89 LeBaron.

Plenty. Take care of it and you can hit 250K or 300K like nothing.

I got just under 60k on my 98 gxe but there are plenty of people with 100k+ and running fine. Just do all the maintenance.

My 97 runs pretty good too. No mods, just bone stock. Am wondering how far this ride will go. Anybody know what to expect out of the engine, trans or other components? I've done EVERY scheduled maintence and I run Mobile 1. The timing chain and water pump have not been changed as the dealer says it's not yet necessary(that's making me nervous though).

Timing chain should never need to be replaced as it is not a belt and does not strech. Not sure about the water pump....if you keep doing the routine matanence and taking care of you car it should go to 250,000 or more.

Well.......it is a LOT of miles. But, it is my work mule and it has served me well since new. The only two major problems happened while it was under warranty. The main computer died and was replaced and the A/C compressor died and was replaced. Other than that it has been pretty flawless. Due to the mileage, it's probably not worth much, so I have been thinking about just driving it out and seeing how far it will go.

i flipped 70,000 this morning...

but at 450miles a week of just work driving, well... needless to say it adds up... my rationale is that i might as well be driving in style... therefore my choice is MAXIMA...

good luck, w/ a 97, it'll run another 201,000, I hope you like maxima

my other car, not a maxima just wouldn't die on me no matter how much I abused it, so I got into an accident and that's why I have a maxima, otherwise it had like 130k on it, it was 89 mazda 626, good little horse

Like 1/3There said, timing chains do not need to be replaced. As for the water pump, only replace it once it starts leaking. You will know, because you'll smell anti-freeze and see that the leak originates around the water pump. The leak starts slowly, so now worries. To help prevent your water pump from going, change your anti-freeze regularly, too, like at least once every 2 years. Use a 50% mix

Oh, and, by the way, I have 111,000 miles on my 98 Only major issues (if you can call it that) have been a sticking rear brake, and a check engine for emissions. Nissan paid for the emissions issue as well.
