My Max in an accident...

I was driving to school today and was going around a curve and what couldnt have been more than maybe 25 and I started to skid and hit into a fire hydrant. No one was hurt and I didn't hit any other cars thank god. The damage isn't that bad luckily. The front left side from the bumper to the beginning of the front door is all ripped up but I think it missed anything by the engine. Unfortunately, the hydrant will cost from $2k-3k to fix which also wont help my insurance. I also lost one of my GLE rims and the tires. I have full insurance luckily but any guesses how much it would cost to fix? Also any idea how much I can expect my insurance to go up? I'm 17 with a previously perfect record. I right now pay $250/month for everything. I learned my lesson not to think my car will never lose control. I've taken turns much faster but it was cold out so the tires weren't warm which would explain them losing the grip so easily. Also, is it possible to get a ticket because the cop doesn't believe I wasn't speeding and he has witness that said I was going too fast. It was a 15 MPH turn. He didn't say anything about it so I think I'm clear of that. It could have been so much worse and may turn out to be a good thing in the end. I was getting too confident as a driver and not realizing how much is really at stake.

unless the speed limit itself changes from 25 to 15 you are fine.. that 15MPH Yellow Sign you probably saw is a RECOMMENDATION sign, its not a limit, just like on highways when the have 45MPH turns, i take those at like 75 and think nothing of it.. you cant get a ticket if no one was there to clock your speed, just some bi-standard who THOUGHT you were going to fast.. if you get a ticket take it to court.

as far as fixing your car, i would spend the 325 on Z3 fenders from Shadow and get them painted and put on, and then try and get a door out of a junkyard or something, if you go through a body shop you will get KILLED.. sorry to hear about the accident man

The cost for your accident will be your collision insurance deductible, plus any additional premium your insurance company may charge if they deem this to be a "fault" accident.

Since you were the only car involved, and you did cause property damage, expect your premium to go up! How much, I dunno, but if you have any money saved up, don't spend it just yet.

I don't believe they were the stock tires but they were toyos. I got them replaced when I bought the car and they weren't cheap around $75-100 each H-Rated. I would tell you exactly what ones but I don't have the car right now.

how did u skid?? going at 25? was it snowing?

one of ur stock gle rims are dead? actually that might be a good thing, those rims are really ugly, maybe u can get the insurance money and get 4 new ones
rims are cheap these days , no name ones of course

goto rim1.com or rims1.com one of the 17's only 350$ and 17'' tires for 300$. not bad.

Hey, not as a joke or anything, but did you break the fire hydrant? If so, did the fire hydrant spout out water? I'm curious... seen too many action movies.

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune man. My Max met a similar fate a month ago, i just got it back this past weekend. It's hell going without your car. You don't realize how much you depend on it till you don't have it.

Thats like the millionth time ive been asked that question over the past few days and the answer is that it didnt spout up in the air or anything like the movies but it did leak. After having time to think about the accident its clearer now and its not that I was going too fast around the curve but as I was finishing the curve i accelerated too early and too hard causing the front tires to spin. i'm now so much more ****ed at myself but luckily i learned without too much damage I hope. I need to get her back soon.
