how does the car sound without resonators and stock muffler?
since warpspeed might make a new 304SS Bpipe i was wondering how much performance i would gain from such a modification. how much restriction does the stock muffler have? i really want to get a greddy or apex-i, but i'm keeping my options open. so does the Bpipe really offer tangible gains alone? how does it sound?
I don't think the resonator would really matter
The resonator doesn't disrupt air flow much. I have the courtesy B-pipe, it can with the resonator, flow increased and I'm happy. I think had it not come with a resonator, it'd make little difference. Also, the resonator doesn't quite the car all that much...the muffler does a fantastic job of that. I loosened the muffler bolts a tad when I was stock with a y-pipe. It was a lot louder. I have the 5th gen muffler with the courtesy pipe and it's just right. Quiter than a stock Bimmer and has a nice sound.
I got a Cattman Stainless Y with a stock cat and a Stillen Stainless B with the stock muffler and a 4" tip on the end of the beast. It sounds deeper then before, minimal increase in cabin noise. If you ever hear a new generation v6 eclipse, thats what the car now sounds like.
