Tranny Prob, Help Please!
I was driving along today and came to a stop light. When I started driving it seemed like I wasn't in 1st gear, it felt like it was slipping. So I tried giving it some more gas, and after a few seconds figured out the car was stuck in 3rd. I tried manually shifting with no effect. So I drove down the street to the auto parts store, checked the fluid level and gave everything a once over, and started the car back up. The OD light blinked a bunch of times, then went out. I drove the car and it seems to be shifting fine now, I did not add any fluid or adjust anything. I have had a transgo shift kit for over 10k and a tranny cooler. I had been driving for about 15 minutes before this happened. Anyone know what would cause this? Is my tranny going out? I still have 6k on the warranty. Thanks in advance.
once i came to a quick stop, and i pressed the gas and nothing happen. i thought my tranny was going out. turns out i needed fluid...
i say go to the dealer if its still under warranty. but i think ur mods void it though...

It's the fail-safe mode. The transmission goes into this mode if you've been driving aggressively, or if there is excessive wheelspin. Turning off the car, waiting a minute, and restarting should reset the TCU and your transmission should be back to normal again.
Not to rant, but this question could have been answered if you read your owners manual. There is good information in there.
