Don't do it >>

The beam pattern will be destroyed. That kid Emax will tell you that it doens't matter...but it does. Also, he'll claim that you don't need your highbeams anymore. He's wrong again.

Whoa...easy there...I'm sorry I called you "kid"...I didn't mean to sound condescending...I call everyone "kid"...it's like calling someone "dood" or "guy".

I haven't bashed anyone here on the BBS...well, except for that one guy last year who started talking s**t about my height.

You're right...I re-read your posts...you never said you didn't need them...but you did get Shing and I pretty worked up about this whole issue.

Hey, you like having the HID conversion...fine by me. I'm just giving the other side of the story...letting other guys know about the dangers and inconveniences of having the conversion.

Sorry guys>>>

didn't mean to start up a dispute...

I really appreciated all the feedback. I know all of you are well meaning. To me the dispersal pattern is very important so i'll decide whether to buy or not based on seeing either seeing them in person or a photo. Thanks again guys!

Stock wattage only>>>

I did burn out my switch (covered under warantee luckily) when i had 80/100W. I've rewired my car with separate relays with HD harnesses straight to the battery. I had the PIAA SW, they were brighter but still not as white as I would have liked. I heard the Sylvania cool blues and NARVAS are similar but cheaper.

As for the color...it's your choice...if you want blue...get those APC Xenons. If you wwant white, get Sylvania Coolblues or Phillips BlueVisions.

HID systems run 35W nominal >>

They require high voltage (20000 volts initial; 7000-9000 volts steady state) to arc electrons across a gas (Xenon).

If you're using the one made for the 4th Gen 9004s...then the harness is supposed to be able to handle up to 130W...the relays can handle up to 30 amps.

Installation of the harness is cake...plug it in and run the wires to the positive terminal of the battery. The instructions are enclosed.

That's why I need a test monkey.. I'm willing to bet that the beam pattern will not get destroyed. I'll be taking pics/videos of a Philips HID kit installed on a Maxima (reflective style housing). So far, no takers.

I would but I'm on the other side of the continent>>>

LOL...
I'm seriously considering it when I know that it won't blind oncoming traffic. My friend installed it in a couple of vehicles and the pattern (according to him) was good. These were on single filament HL though... I'm still doing some research

Phuong, if you're serious about this and am willing to work thru the distance issue, email me some details...

I'd prefer to do it here in my garage so that I can see it w/ my own eyes. Pictures don't do justice for the HIDs!

Chunger & GotRice >>

My point is...the HB1(9004) housing already sucks...the beam pattern sucks...throws light everywhere except the road...what's going to happen when you go and increase the intensity of the light by three-fold...just more useless light. If the housing reflector wasn't designed with proper beam pattern in mind...there's nothing you can do to correct it.

HID kits work well with 9006 projectors, like the BMWs and 300ZX...because with projectors, the pattern is built into the housing. The same goes for those newer Honda 9006/9005 headlights...the housings are designed with a proper pattern. As for H4 headlights...the pattern is controlled also by the bulb...

Yeah, I heard that the max is 10rd magazines. I'm interested in buying a handgun later on...just trying to see what's out there. How's the handgrip on the Sig? Good for smaller hands?

It also is available in .357 and .40 SW

I bought it a long time ago... before the LA riots. I only paid like $575 for it. I changed the grip. If you like a comfortable grip the smaller P228 had a very good grip (my hands aren't huge). I don't think they make that model any more. Check out their site:

http://www.sigarms.com/full_size_classics.htm

I think the P229 is a compact version that replaces the P228
