7L:3S Three way Catalyst

I got a CEL and this is what it gave me: 7L:3S Three way Catalyst...WTF does it mean?! I got it after I hit a HUGE speed bump and my exhaust hanger ripped a small hole in my exhaust right before the muffler....

Pretty much answered your own question huh... Might wanna fix the hole in your exhaust. The code is telling you that your catalytic converter is not working, but really it's because you have a hole in your exhaust. Least that would be my first guess. If it's a small hole just JB weld it, that stuff is the shiznit.

No reason to bump your own thread after less than an hour...people will answer.

An exhaust leak at the muffler area has nothing to do with a catalyst efficiency code. Check to make sure the rear oxygen sensor didn't sustain damage. Your cat could or the rear O2 sensor could be failing.

Interesting...I think that may be a good idea, however from the cat all the way to about 3 inches to the start of the Magnaflow muffler is "full" exhaust so I wouldn't imagine the cat to be losing too much back pressure or whatever else it needs to work properly...thanks for the advice, it did turn over new stones of knowledge...

it may be a sensor indeed...I almost hit a black bear on a canyon road driving too fast and went through the ditch where I found a huge bump which released the exhaust into a marionette dance...thanks again for the advice...

What do you mean it's a ' "full" ' exhaust? Full would be headers all the way back.

you're reading a little too into it...I have a y-pipe, test pipe, cat, more tube, than a muffler to clarify....

Why not try checking the condition of the rear O2 sensor for damage after the speed bump incident
