The outters tend to wear faster than the inners.
Not that hard to replace.I recomend a computerized alignment.
Yes they sell "stock" "non performance"after market tierods
You will need a special tool to remove the inners (inner tie rod remover)
I shop ebay all day http://search.stores.ebay.com/World-...149511QQsofpZ0

Its a pain in the *** without the special tool. Get the tool, it will make the job much easier. If you dont feel like getting an alignment after or wont be getting one for a while, line your new ones up with your old ones and match them up.

You do realize some of these ebay stores are actual reputable companies.
Some are wholesale distributers that deal with your local parts store.
Heard of CARDONE?/AC/DELCO? any way not everything on ebay is "Crap"
I prefered to spend the difference on a HKS BOV & a AEM wideband.
I have no problems with my "EBAY" steering & suspension parts. Going on two years now But yeah go oem if you like.

When I replaced mine I didnt use OEM, just what ever Napa gave me. The inner tie rod ends were the same thickness as OEM and the outters were beefier. Doesnt really matter, its not like your going to break one, aftermarket are fine.

outer tie rods are like.. loosen 1 nut, pull 1 cotter pin, loosen another nut, use a tool or hammer it out easily and spin off tie rod.. repeat backwards.

more or less those steps on all cars. Just dont really loose your place of how far the tie rod was to begin with or you will be driving with one crazy steering wheel.

you have that arguement there about the whole ten years. but as i remember you really do have bad luck with cars in general just off the CMC problems you posted.

Yea OEM will last you 10 years but i think 60%+ of us owners right now dont plan on keeping the max for even 5 years, or will not have the same 4th gen due to other reasons.

Personally only problems i've come accross are the cheaper ebay items, autozone to me is a 65% chance of you doing the repair twice. And napa, the only things i've gotten from them is a rebuilt CV axle kit on own side and a cv axle for the other side and the have held up for 3 years now on the camry.

+1 to that,

My 93 was a 5 speed, se, abs, w/o lsd, yadda yadda yadda (this was my first car mind you, I didn't have the knowledge I do now) I ended up getting 4 different CV's from autozone, before they finally got the correct one. You have no idea how much of a pita that was, but I could take the tire off, remove the ball joint, hub nut and have the axle off in less than 5 minutes at that point, but my god, what a pain.

guys were are talking here about tie rods... they are like 27 bucks a piece.. the oem ones...

autozone ones are the same PRICE!!!

heres autozone.... http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm

heres oems ones.....

http://www.worldpartsexpress.com/par...layCatalogid=0

why the crap would you buy aftermarket ones... ???

why would u not use them? i agree if the price difference was like 20 dollars a piece then i would understand... ok but its like a couple of dollars difference.....

so yea i would rather buy OEM ones... and have them last 10 more years even though the car will not....
