Nothing extra is needed. Sensors are integrated into the front and back of the mirror. You just need a power and ground.

somewhere out there is my awesome mirror installation write-up, but since the recent reload of the org my link does not work. perhaps someone with search capabilities can find it for you.

the gist of it is that two of the wires are +12 and ground and the other two connect to the interior illumination variable brightness switch. my write-up explains what is what.

Red and blue is power. Black and green is ground. I hooked the black and green together and went to chassis ground. I connected red and blue to headlight power (any power point that gives you 12v with lights on). FunLovinMaxima's write up was a little different but the basics are the same. It is a GREAT write up, very detailed. It was just before the site went down if you can find it.
