Yeah!! I am buying a 98 SE !!

I picked it up at an auction yesterday for $1000 below loan. It has never been wrecked and doesn't appear to have any leaks. It has 82k which is higher than what I was wanting but hey, it took 2 grand off the price. It is the color I was wanting ( silver/ black leather) with options I wanted. Bose, climate control, leather, sunroof. I am getting it for $10,800. it is auto but still fun to drive. I guess this makes me an official member! Btw, got one question. cold air blows when I push the auto on the climate control but econo doesn't seem to blow cold air and I don't hear the compressor turn on. is this broke or is that why it is econo? thanks!!!

The econo button is like vent. You get outside air and fan and heat, but no a/c. It's working right.

Good deal. Treat her right and she'll last you three times that mileage.

nice!

Good deal. That's about what I paid for my 98 GXE with just a sunroof and powerseat. No leather, no spoiler, no fogs, no automatic climate control, no BOSE.. but it had 56k miles. runs like new! 82k miles is really NOT a lot for a VQ. This is such a great motor, I've driven numerous VQs with 120k miles and more and they are all smooth as hell.. this engine is beautiful. If the VG 3rd gen Max can run 200k miles easy.. I won't be surprised if the VQ can go 300k and more!. 82k... it has barely been broken in good luck and welcome to the org!

dont mind sprinmax, he is just jealous because he is one of the few with a minima...and about the auto...my 99 se-l is auto and fun to drive, but I would do anything to have it be a 5 spd...I would rip out my leather, auto climate control to be a 5 spd...maybe i will do the conversion next summer?

Actually a barebones GXE 5-speed is a Maxima not a Minima. Just ask evil Bill.

Brake lights

I love my '98 SE. By the way, do you plan on getting altezza's or anything? Not to capitalize on you new found fortune, but I would love to pick up some replacement stock taillights. I cleared mine and messed them up a tad. Private message me if your interested.

Congrats on the new ride!

Guys, thank you for your replies and welcoming!! I bought this for my wife but I've been finding every excuse for her to let me drive it to work...It has some crappy tires on it...Winston's or something . they squeal like a pig. What kind of tires do you suggest....I'll need all weather . I've been putting Firestone SH30's on my other 2 cars . They handle great in the rain but seem to make a lot of road noise that I don't like. Sorry, not buying any Altezza's. Gonna keep it bone stock.

Tires for Nissans = Yokahamas(Avid or AVS). My wife loves them on her Max, and they work quite well on a 240.
Only problem, if you drive aggressively they will wear quickly(about half life), not that I know from personal experience.

Cool! I think the last 98 I test drove had yoko's on it and they were awesome..I took them hard around corners and never could get them to squeal or slide...I'm going back to the dealership it was at
and see what was on it!
