JimWolf Technology will do it if you are looking to get an ECU upgrade. What kind of mods do you have now?

I have a jim wolf ecu for my 99. They can program an ecu for you but you have to send them a 95 or 96 ecu only, then they modify it. It will work in your 99max then. They bypass the coded key system also. But they do take forever to do the work. Mine took like 3-4months. Talk to Ben at jim wolf. You can also get a jim wolf modified ecu and then send them that one and they will program it to 99specs for $50.

hello.

I tried Jim Wolf and they said nothing for the 99. Maybe in the future.
Man, this sucks. I talked to ben, and it seems like this is a no go...

Ben is the one I went thru. That doesnt make sense. A few of us on the org had them done thru JWT. I know zack342 had one but he sold it.wtf

What are the gains in the modified ECU for the 99? What if our car is stock engine wise? Is this a worthwhile improvement as a stand alone solution? I understand that it would help maximize the benefits of other mods/bolt on's, but what about all by itself? Would the car feel all that different? Also, how come JWT gives differnt answers to different people? Don't they know their stuff? I mean, we are not talking about some huge company that handles a huge product line up. this is a cottage industry for crying outloud. I would not mind doing this as it is something very easy to do and it doesn't mean tearing the car apart.

it will not work in a 99 b/c of the coded key. The coded key and ignition started in 99.

From my reading, the ECU of choice to start with should come from a 95/96. Then JWT does their programming and for $50 extra dollars, makes it compatible with 99's (and yes you will lose your immobilzer feature and your car will start fine). But don't take my word or anyone elses, call JWT again and get the info straight from the horse's mouth.

Of course there are gains, and documented too. Do a search and you'll see plenty of happy orgers. Check the Dyno forum, the timeslip forum etc etc.
