i'm friends with the state trooper that gave me the slip and he told me to use that excuse. You can also generically say that your eyes are sensitive to light, your eye doctor isn't gonna care about signing some slip for you to get tint anyways, so I seriously doubt he/she would say no.

Ask him if you think it'll hold up in NY . I'd LOVE to get dark tint.

email dmv and say your sensitive to light and have a complicated prescription issue with your vision not allowing sunglasses, and that your eye doctor recommended window tinting. Get your eye doctor to write a note and fax it to them. Theres always an exception in every rule, you just gotta find it, your state may have a simular slip for tinting that you/I/the vast public doesn't know about.

So if you're not capable of taking the wheel under sunlight then you shouldn't be driving.

thank you

florida tint law is 32% in front and 20% in back. if you go lower tint shops wont give you a receipt, i have 20% all around but about to go 5% looked really nice on my friends but also dont go cheap on tint in the end you pay for it and get the life time warranty. 3m tint is very nice.

I would do either 5% or 10%. I made the mistake of going too lite and i had to re tint my windows. Now I have 10% and its dark enough.

Definitely dark enough.

Go too dark and fudge up your night vision.

Don't do it yourself.
I bought the pre-cut set and spent all day to get it done.
It is really hard to avoid the bubbles and you won't be able to do the rear window alone.
I am gonna send my car to the tint shop next week.

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/FL/

according to this website, its 28% on front and 15% on back and rear.

because i dont want varying degrees of tint, i was thinking about getting 25% all around. or maybe 25% on the sides and 30% rear window (i like being able to spot police headlights at night)

you would not get away with that it PA or NY. You would get tickets like crazy and fail inspection. But it does look awsome

I got 5% all the way around. Would not have it any other way. Whenever a state trooper comes around I just have to roll them down. Going to suck when it gets cold though!!!!!!!!

I got pulled over in august for having tints. I live in NYC, brooklyn, and had 15% all around except windshield. I was afraid of my mothers insurance going up so I took the tint off (starting to go purple - ish anyways). I went to court and pleaded non guilty with explanation that I took them off. Paid like $30 in dmv fees. Now I am getting the doctor's note and giong to go 10% all around, and 20 on the windshield. My eyes actually ARE sensitive to light however, I walk around with sunglasses usually.
