The perfect 4th Gen tool box
I'm not sure if I am the only one, but I keep a small tool box in my trunk just for my maxima. I like to be ready for anything that might happen on the road and I also like to go to u-pull it junk yards. Here is what I keep in mine, I might have forgot one or two.
1. A multi tipped screw driver
2. A very stubby Phillip's head screw driver
3. Oil filter wrench
4. An adjustable wrench
5. A metric ratchet set
6. Tape mesure
7. Pliers and needle nose Pliers
8. Flash light
What tools do you think are accentual for any 4th gen maxima owner?
Also what spare pairs, if any do you keep close at hand, because you just know that they break often in 4th gens?

Muti tip Screwdriver (real cheap but great for unscrewing the corner lights then pulling that shaft out and reversing it to the flat head and popping out those bumper lights)
Basic Socket Wrench and Set
Maglite (of course with the upgraded LED bulb)
last but not least GIRLFRIEND, in case i break down somewhere and need something to do while i wait for AAA

i usually lug around a full toolset (3/8", 1/2" drive socket wrenches and torque wrenches, full metric socket set/deep sockets, spanners, bit driver+screw drivers etc), a 6 D cell maglite and a inova X0, sometimes a floor jack and stands.
i want to figure out a way to mount my floor jack in the trunk.
what can i say, maybe some hot blonde will be stuck by the side of the road in the dark some day and she'll bang me to fix her car on the spot
maybe i should add condoms to that list...

christ, vice grips??? there easy to do and fairly cheap so why would you not fix them?? best thing i did after i got my ride was replace those hood struts. friggin reminded me of when i had a 72 toyota corona and could'nt afford to fix anything on it. and, the best defense against problems is common sense. keep up with the maintenece and you wont have to worry so damn much.

zip ties, possibly spare fuses, rubber gloves (optional if you're manly enough), shop towel (also optional but helpful in case of spills)? All of those have helped me out at times before.
Or... just macgyver it and carry a paper clip at all times.

I keep a 10mm socket (w/ ratchet), an 8mm open-ended wrench, a flat-head screwdriver, and a roll of duct tape (yes, seriously) in my glove box. I figure anything that would require more tools than that shouldn't be dealt with on the side of the road.

you know what...this is absolutely correct and i think i need to go ahead and remove my completely full tool box AND the the craftsman tool set on the other side of the trunk. Its making my rear end sag a bit

I keep a 1/4" drive ratchet set in my trunk with that, i could take apart half the car. Serioulsy, 8, 10, 12 is pretty much the only thing that the engine bay requires. I have a miniature tool box, has needle nose pliars, philips screwdriver, and 1/4" drive ratchet set, oh and wire cutters.
