i have a 96 gle with 40k.....when i put the ac on i get a exhaust smell in the car.......any ideas what it could b?

 

you smell exhaust coming inthrough the vents?

 

i dont realy smell it .....but when i get out my clouths smell like exhaust ......and its only when i us the ac

 

Thats kinda weird -- I remember when I was in Korea about a year ago, I was driving an Infiniti I30 clone as a rental car -- Anyway, when I was using the a.c. I could really get the scent of gasoline in the interior. I just thought it was the nasty air quality from the oil refineries along with the usual pollution near Seoul.

Anyway, I think if you don't use the recirculation button, the air gets drawn in from the outside.

One could almost get high going to a gas station in Korea -- they have no vapor recovery devices. The fumes can be fairly brutal and I'm surprised attendants can deal with that all day long.
