Found why E-Brake light does not come on (Pics)

Nissan definitely overcomplicated this tiny design, why could they not use a simple spring mechanism is what i am wondering.

The little black connector (with the wire disconnected in the pics) has to attach to the metal bracket, when the e-brake is down it pushed the metal slider up and the connection is lost (light goes away), when the e-brake is up, the metal slider should slide down,

This is where my problem is: the connector hinge broke off and i cant think of a way to attach it i tried super tiny zip ties - they do hold it but they also push the black piece down onto the metal slider not allowing it to move freely, and the broken piece is too small to super glue as well

Would the dealer carry this? probably a junk yard would ?

Try the parts in the dealership and take your vin with you they look it up then they give the exact one.

That part is the same on all A32's, no need to bring your VIN on hand...

A junkyard would probably let you have it for cheap, all you have to do to get to it is take off the ebrake boot.

^ well, i obviously went one step and beyond and removed the whole console, i couldnt see well in the dark wit hthe e-brake boot on (did this when i got bored at 2 am)

I will call a few junkyards on monday, but i dont think they will understand exactly what i need, will try dealer too.

it just pisses me off how nissan designed that flimsy thing and how i cant reattached the old one ... dang it

Haha, Yea I guess you got to the job before I did, but ultimatly this is the same case as me, I JB welded mine on and it seems to hold, until recently when I yanked on the e-brake. Im thinking of just bypassing it, IMO i don tneed to know if the ebrake is engaged or not, Its common sense to know if the back tires are being braked or not.

Question, is there supposed to be a spring on that little aluminum slider ?

i dont think nissan would rely on plain gravity for it to slide down when the e brake is disengaged
