Installed my STILLEN FSTB Today...Impressions...

Hey guys,

I installed my STILLEN Front Strut Tower Brace today. I purchased it from Phuong...and I know I could've gotten the same thing for like $35, but I wanted it to say "STILLEN"...or should I say "STEALIN"?

Anyways...it was a breeze to install. The first thing I noticed before I even drove the car was how solid it felt. Before I installed it, the car would shake when I got in it, but when I got in the car after install, the shake seemed minimal.

I took it out for a spin. I didn't really notice a drastic difference in handling, but I'm very happy with how solid the car feels now. I didn't get a chance to *really* test it out yet.

Oh, and I also have the STILLEN sticker in my window now...so maybe the Civic riceboys will wanna go!

Oh well. Just thought I'd share! Next up is the RSB. Sprint Springs are in the mail...KYB AGX are also on the "To Buy" list. Then the suspension will pretty much be done. I also planning on upgrading to 18" wheels, but not until next Spring. I need to get some more power adders (Y-pipe and exhaust) first. I also want to get my stereo in sometime soon!

So many possibilities...so little cash!

Later,
-Nick

I thought you were selling your car for a 5spd ?

Anyways, I just had my Matrix FSTB installed by the body shop a week or 2 ago (max was in their anyways so why not?) and I am disappointed. It's tightly secured, so it's been installed correctly. But, I didn't really notice any difference. I guess their is less body roll ?

Well, I had higher expectations. Is the FSTB only supposed to help minimize body roll ?

body roll

i don't think fstb doesn't really prevent body roll hehe.... and after you lower your car...u'll barelly feel anything from fstb. but the truth is... it does help, and like mrb23 said.... take a right turn faster than you normally do..u'll feel it hehe.. i take u turns and that's when i am driving around 40-50 =P and i felt the force..but i was amazed how the car handled =P

Actually it would be neat to have the words "Stealin" on the FSTB using the Stillen font.

Well...It looks like I'm gonna hold on to my auto for now. Someone actually e-mailed me today offering to trade me. We'll see what happens.

I did finally get a chance to do some fast right turns, and the difference is there. I'm still very happy with how solid my car feels now.

Springs are in the mail, and KYB AGX and RSB on on the "To Buy" list.

Yea...I've yet to try any sharp right turns fast, but I took a couple regular right turns pretty fast and I felt the difference.
