yeah, different part number, but is the cat ACTUALLY going to be different??? like they used different materials to make the 95-96 RT cat?? as far as i know, the 95/96 and 97-99 cats are exactly the same size/shape(correct me if i'm wrong). so yeah, it'll work - in my opinion.

I think the 95/96 have an o2 sensor in the cat

and the 97/later have it behind the cat.

Cats on Maximas

Before spending your money on a R/T Cat, consider one of our Carsound Cats here at WarpSpeedPerformance.com. We recently dynod a 3rd gen car (mine) and went head to head against the R/T cat. R/T had 1 more h/p than ours. There's sell for over $200, ours is $125. Can you feel 1 h/p? I don't think I can. Our 4th gen exhaust system upgrades will be on the market in several weeks, y-pipes , cattbacks, and Carsound cats. Dyno results will be posted.Check out our web site. Dan WSP

DOn't if this will help, but anyways . . .

On my 98 SE, cali spec, the 3rd O2 sensor is on the B-pipe just behind the cat. So when I replaced my cat with an R/T cat, no sensors were involved at all.

Re: Cats on Maximas

Not to rag, but you should mention that the RT cat was 2.25" and the carsound one was 2.5" He should know that for fitment purposes. But your carsound one has better flanges though.
