What does GTR mean?

I was wondering what GTR meant. I know that it is some form of Nissan. But it would love to know what it meant. Thanx

It doesn't actually stand for anything, it just denotes a model variation, just like GXE, SE and GLE.

The GT stands for Grand Touring and the R stands for Racing. Usually, the R is reserved for a company's race cars (like the Corvette C5R and the Audi R8R), but I guess any Skyline GTR is track-ready.

Micah95GLE is 100% right...

Grand Touring, Racing. It's not just a Nissan thing. Now you may resume your dispute between I30 & Maxima... even though you know the Maxima is just plain "BETTER"!

I paid 27k for the T model.
I wouldn't buy another Infiniti unless I can get a better deal from them again... (which I will)

But I agree that the max is a better car, performance wise and budget wise...

I thought that GTR stood for the class of racing that version of the Skyline took part in. I know that in most international forms of racing, GT and something else (Normally a number, but sometimes a letter) are normally paired together when it comes to production model cars taking part in races.

no your right it says GXE, but if he wants to compare cars, then compare the car as it is converted...I30t is a Maxima SE. Do you see where I'm going with this? What does it matter really? Everyone has a purpose for their car and how much they paid for it. I couldn't have taken clients out in a GXE, so I chose a GLE, and at the same time got hooked up with an I30t for not much more. Impression is all about presentation, and when you work in sales, as I did. You don't let them know your just scraping by month to month.

I see this crap all the time, prove that it means SE. Find it in one piece of Nissan literature.

Keep the GLE's out of this crap. Continue on with the I30 vs. GXE vs. SE war.

Re: Clear out blinker on stock tail lights. . how?

costed me $5 for Flouresent(sp) sheet from Home Depot , $25 for heat gun, but if you don't want to keep it you can always return it

directions from brother Cheston http://www.seas.ucla.edu/~cheston/rearlights.htm

it takes patience.. lots of it.. any slight mistake and you will break the lens.. i usually do them for $170 .. but these are brand new lights you get from the dealership.. so technically i am doing them for nothing

Isn't Edmunds not a worthy enough source?-->http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/roadt...5/article.html
9th paragraph, 6th line...and i'll quote...
While this stiffly tuned ride quality and amplified communication with the driver is acceptable in, say, a Maxima SE (upon which the I30t is based), we think buyers of the upscale Infiniti are going to want more compliance, a smoother ride, and a quieter cabin
