Because i have 2 auto trannies in parts cars that i could use for just that. I also have a recently rebuilt manual with a broken bellhousing. It cant be welded i need a new one. Since i had those i was wondering if it would work.

Even if it "could" be welded you should never do that either. It warps the housing and even if you can get the tranny assembled, it will wear out the bearings quickly.

It may warp the housing but there have been many welded bellhousings used with no ill effects.
