I am looking to buy a set of KYB AGX's with about 15,000 miles one them. One of the strut tower stuts is broken. The guy says it can easily be fixed by just using a new bolt or having a shop weld a new stud. Is it that easy or is it a problem I should be worried about. Also how long do struts usually last? I can get a full set new on ebay for 340, how much are these worth. The other 3 don't exhibt any problems.

 

good luck finding someone to repair that and if they do will the tolerances be in spec? Tell him if its so easy to fix he can repair it for you and charge you going rate for low mileage agx's. In the condition they are in, they are worth what three used struts are worth about 40 bucks a pop. id slide unless the mileage can be verified and your getting a deal

put it this way .... do you want to be 1/2 way to some place and you hear a loud THUNK ... and wonder what the hell it is - the answer will be of course ... your strut that you fixed.

Bump...there is more to the deal though, he is selling a pair of ground control coilovers with them as a package. The coilovers only have 1000 miles on them and he wants to sell them as a package. The package is $400, is it worth it?

I'd say go for it. I have AGXs and GC and I love the setup. The handling is amazing!
