digital climate hookup
has anyone done a digital climate swap on a 95? i have the manual climate and at the junkyard the other day i found a nissan with digital, i swiped all the wiring i could see that hooked up to it along with the cluster and i got it for 20 bucks so what the hell why not try, i was just wanting to know if anyone has done it and has a writeup or anything cuz i forgot where some of the wires ran to lol, oh and mine does not have the amb temp button by the way, thanks

It's been done, but I'm not sure if there is a write up. You realize wiring isn't all that you need right? You're going to need the sensors that complete the system as well. Good luck. If you do decide to pursue it, let me know. I'd like a write up and an estimated cost hehe. I might consider it if it's less than $400.

Would this be possible to just use the unit as a digital climate control and not hook up any of the automatic features? Then there wouldn't be a need for sensors and all that but would still look much nicer than the manual one.

well i got the sensor in the right defroster vent in the dash and all the wiring that ran to it it's like a million miles long lol, and the tube that comes off the back of it and the digital readout, how many sensors are on this thing i only found one

There are 4 sensors. 1 is inside the ACC already, which is the cabin sensor.
The other 3 sensors are:
1. sun sensor by the front windshield defogger panel
2. temp sensor by the front, behind your grill/horn
3. (someone fill in this one?)
I was going to put the ACC in mine but after reading about it and all the work that they have to do to it... I chose not to convert my manual CC to ACC.
It takes about 8 hours to do if you're lucky.

I had a 97 GLE parts car and I didn't want to do the swap. From what I could tell you have to swap the entire body control harness and body control computer. You are essentially adding the Comfort and Convenience package after you swap the complete wiring harness. From what I could tell, you could add the electric trunk release, the OEM sunroof, homelink, factory keyless entry, and everything else that comes with the C&C package. I gave up after partially pulling the GLE wiring. I'm sure it can be done, but not very easily if you wanted to do it right, even with a parts car.

It's a SE. You just described my car. If it has white gauge faces it's definitely an SE. Also, if the door handles are the same color as your car (not chrome) it's an SE.
What the hell is up with all these posts/threads lately about "What model is my car?" lol.
