I was driving down the road the other day and stomped on it for a second and right after i did, the e-brake light on my dash came on, but my parking brake wasn't on. I pulled into a parking lot, turned off the car and started it again and the light was still on. Pulled the e-brake, put it back down and the light was still on. The brakes still worked fine so i kept going. A little while down the road it just went off and now there's no problems...
anyone kno any reason this would happen?

 

check your brake lines and the brake fluid in the master cylinder. If there anyleaks or lines cut the brake light will comeon

 

Two reasons your brake light will come on:

1. Parking brake is on.
2. Low fluid level. This could be caused by low pads, a leak somewhere, or a line having burst open.

Obviously a defective switch/sensor or harness somewhere could also light it up.
