There is an updated kit out for RE4F04? solenoids, per a TSB.
Why a VB upgrade?
We don't have a filter, we have a screen.
Is the TC bad, or he just wants to replace it?
Basically, no. Get a junkyard one. Hell, a BRAND NEW one from Nissan would cost less than that.

$3,259.37 for a brand new RE4F04V.
Junkyard trans will cost about $300...

i can get a remanufactured one from nissan for 2500$ but i dont know how to put it on and i dont think i have the right tools either. but he is giving me 3 year warranty on it too.
i can get a 500$ one with 117,000k on it too. the guy is asking for 1145.76$ to install that one though and the junkyard is giving 101days warranty on it

That's up to you. Do you want to spend $3k on a rebuild (i.e. ripoff), get a new Nissan one and spend two hours installing it, or get a junkyard one and either install it or have it installed for about $2k less?

Just a couple
3k for a tranny, or 3k for a whole car?

1.) If you were going to help, maybe show cars in his general area, not in a different country.
2.) A used vehicle hardly costs as much as just the trans, you can get them for a few hundred in junkyards. As much as an overpriced rebuild? Yes, maybe. Of course then you have no idea the overall condition of the car, how it's been treated, etc. Not to mention the new car might very well have trans issues itself.

No, I got that point quite clearly.

just got my tranny replaced last week. I was going to go to the junkyard and replace it myself, but i have no idea what is a good transmission or not. So i talked to my mechanic who worked for aamco for like 12 years before he bought his gas station. Very nice guy, found me a good used tranny for $850. Told me that a rebuilt transmission is useless a lot of times becasue people dont know how to rebuild it correctly. He also said that a good used tranny is better than rebuilding the one i had, so with installation, 1275, and 10k warranty. so $3k for a tranny is too expensive IMO. I'm sure that you can find an orger that would gladly find you a used tranny and install it for you for 1/3 of the price. If not, try it urself???

Seriously though, where particularly are you getting that remanufactured auto, and does nissan offer any sort of warranty?
Kills me how much cheaper Max's are in the states..
Thanks
Yeah.... Bottom line is he's ripping you off... so go with the junkyard tranny like you're talking about. To tell you the truth the tranny is actually a very easy thing to take off and put back on..... I've done mine a couple times now and both times was done in a couple hours.
Just make sure if you can't handle about 100 lbs without breaking your back that you have someone with you.... Heck even your wife/GF can help. All they need to know how to do is crank the jack up and down.... I mean the car jack...

and the heat doesnt work on it. i have to freeze my *** every morning.i talked to dave at the dealership and he told me that they have like 7 of them sitting in a warehouse in montreal. he said there is a 60,000km 1 year warranty.
Have you actually checked anywhere for it? Look online, $20-30 most places for the filter kit.
