Installing I30 gas release button

Has anyone changed the manual gas door release to the I30 button on dash. I have the servo from an I30 mounted in the back (holes were already drilled) and there was already a plug wired for it. I know how to hook up the door latch. I have the button in the dash. Is there a harness for the gas release button already back there?

If I get this hooked up, will I be able to open the gas door with the remote?

There's no button on the stock keyfob for popping the gas door, so unless you wire it up yourself, no.

A search for 'electric release' in the 4th gen forum found this right away...

What would be the situation for which one would ever need to open their gas door with the remote?

you could wire a channel of an aftermarket alarm though a relay for remote release. i can dig it.

Wow, i don't think any one of the replies in this thread have any idea what is actually being asked.. He is actually talking about the I30 electronic release button on the dash. It pops the gas door lid instead of pulling a lever on the floor. To answer the question, there is no harness pre-wired on the maxima for this feature you will have to find another way of making it work.

Will it open with the remote was just an after thought, the main question is how to wire the switch. If you read the title of the thread, it is

Run a 12v switched wire to the gas door popper(which you will need from the I30) and ground it somewhere, and your good to go
