Dual projector retro completed (pics)

Well as many know I like to keep my car looking different and unique. I had been kicking the idea of doing another retrofit for some time now, and when I saw the mini H3 projectors on HID planet I knew I wanted to use them.
The other projector I went with was from a TSX. The project was a very slow one, I have been working on them a little at a time for months now. I recently completed them last weekend.

These are the projectors used.

This is how they came out and what they look like before adding the lenses,

Installed,

Close up,

This is what the mini projectors look like during the day,

Pics of the light output for both projectors

TSX

Mini H3

TSX with the mini’s on, (TSX drown out the mini’s)

I know there not perfect, but I’m quite happy with the outcome and pretty satisfied with them the way they are. I did a rear mount of the projectors to try and keep them clean and simple looking and I think I accomplished that.
Sorry guys, no write ups. But if you do some research on retros or already know how to do retros these aren’t much different. They just took a lot of time, and lots of cutting and grinding (a Dremel is a wonderful thing). I will add that in order to mount both sets of projectors I did have to cut the car to get them to fit.
I have more pics on my car domain page, pages 4&5

wow kind of looks like a lexus with the yellow.

Good job on doing those.
How much was the overall cost of this project?

Nice touch with the carbon fiber board inside the back of your headlights.

If I remember correctly, I paid around 150.00 for the TSX projectors and 45.00+ shipping for the minis.
Then another 16.00+ shipping for the yellow capsules used.
Not sure how much I really spent on materials, I didnt keep track. The hardware used to mount them was fairly cheap though, the springs were the most expensive part.
I already had bulbs, ballast and ignitors from my prevuios setup.

I cut the rear of the housings and made them quite a bit thinner to accomadate the rear mount,

The fitment issues were mainly due to the extra projector.

Very nice mate! I like the dual projectors a lot! Wish I would have done that when I was doing my A6 Projectors. Still may ... in the future, but it'll be a while to say the least.

Very stylish, I really like how the eyelids give it a "sleepy" look. Oh, and the yellow DRLs make me touch myself.

Those pics have nothing on the true look and beauty of them. I saw them first hand. Very nice fit no clearance issues from what I saw and they look clean as hell

could you please go into a bit more details? This is a nice setup, better than my 9004 with shields.

Honestly I'm not feeling them so much when they're off, but I do like the concept of the yellow H3s. As if the panda Maxima didn't already stand out enough...

Kudos for the retro man, cool stuff.

Sorry to say, but no they won't. There are plenty of people on the boards that make them and they don't sell. Why you ask. Simple, because Maxima owners are cheap as fawk.

Thanks for the compliments guys, Im really liking them myself. Big improvement over my last retro, they were just a bit more time consuming. I searched for quite a while just to find the chrome rings in the right size to use as the bezels.

The wiring of the TSX is the same with any projector retro setup. If you have never done one, HIDPlanet has tons of usefull info.
Wiring of the minis was done with a switch. I wanted to be able to control them independently whenever I wanted to without having to turn on the parking lights.

I will try and get a bit more pics today to show the backs of the projectors and to give an idea of how much room was needed.

Looks pretty clean man. Did you color mod the tsx? You had to cut the car where the headlights mount?

I color modded them a bit, Ive seen better but everything Ive read about the TSX projectors states that there not all the same so its hard to duplicate the color.

The cutting I did was to the opening where the back of the headlights fit into. I had to widen it. I cut right under the area where the threaded posts goes into of the mounting posts, and then right above the one on the bottom.

Really, really nice job you did there Flava! Nice choice in projectors, rings etc.
Darn it though, you and one other person that I know of have beat me to it as far as having CF in the headlights. That is hawt.

If you don't mind me asking, can you provide a link or name of the vendor where you bought the CF from? The weave pattern will match my CF as well. You know I'm a CF junkie too. LOL PM me if you wish. TIA.
