I just bought a 97 Max SE and I have a spare factory auto trans (car is auto too) and a 3.5 engine. I know there is a valve body upgrade out there, any other trans upgrades recommended??? Anyone build a performance auto trans for the max??

Level 10 can do the RE4F04? upgrades.

5.5 gens and 04 SLs came with the same trans as the A32 (different electronics from the A32 revision) so I don't know why everyone is doubting the 'strength' of it.

 

I would just say that it would be better to swap a stick in there as long as you're doing major work on it anyways.

 

No look at jime he did 12.4 n/a with auto transmission. I would give up my shi*y shifting mt for that car. I think a tranny cooler would help you.

 

02-03's run off of CAN lines also, so Don't think the electronics are different.
