Block Heater Location???

I've been a long time reader, but rarely a poster...

I was hoping if any of you happen to know where is the location for the block heater? I'm assuming it would replace a frost plug somewhere...

I've had the element with me for a couple of years now, but never got the chance to install it. I just replaced a section of the exhaust (which was original and leaking badly) with an aftermarket Y-pipe, so this is my chance to install the element as well while my garage is a mess.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Have fun with that, looks to be blocked by the manifold.

EDIT: That's for a DE-K, though. The A32 FSMs don't show a block heater, FWIW.

Did a coolant flush this weekend and installed the block heater at the same time.

Having the aftermarket Y-pipe made the job a lot easier. The stock pipe would have made it impossible.

is it different then a regular block heater or something? only difference i see is the mounting location, way better location then a frost plug IMO, frost plug ones have a habit of popping out

It plugs into a regular 115V household outlet.

The heating element itself is threaded onto the engine block. Then there is an electrical cord where one end connects to the element, and the other end plugs onto an outlet.

Does anyone know where the most accessible freeze plug is located for using a block heater on a '97 Max SE? What about the amount of effort required and a time estimate for getting to it? Diagrams/pics would be helpful.

There's my pic above that shows the stock location for the DE-K, you could put it in the same place on a regular VQ30. I imagine Nissan placed it in that spot for a reason, probably better heating.

If you look at EM it shows where all of the freeze plugs (which in the case of the VQ aren't your typical press-fit plugs, but bolts) are located on the block.
