Crazy Idle when engine cold

OKay my car idles weird when its cold. Before settling at normal temperature the following happens on its own.

1) start up car idle stays at 1200 than slowly rises up to 2200 and stays there until engine warms up.
2) When driving it and when u put the clutch in the revs shoot up to ~2000 range. And stay there. (when the engine is not fully warmed up to 180/190)

When the car finally warms up my IDLE at standing is normal ~700 but when driving and then droppit in to netral it will stay at 1300 until u come to a complete rest than it settles down at 700.

Any ideas?

my idle is even crazier....when the car is first started it idles normal at about 1200 then once the engine warms up it will idle between 1500 and 3000 fluctuating between the two. the idle will rev to 3000 then drop to 1500 then go back up and so forth. its embarassing cause it sounds like im constantly revving my engine up and down. it also sucks cause im contantly dropping into 1st gear from 3000rpms which is burning up my already shot clutch.

i need help on this: i have a IAT code, a control purge valve code, and a bad clutch but i dont think any of those are related to my issue.

My vote is that the Purge control valve is causing a massive vacuum leak.......

For the other guys, find the source of YOUR vacuum leaks, starter fluid works good

Check the Idle Air Control Valve and turn it down. Also take off your air inlet tube to the intake and make sure your throttle plate is fully closed when the engine is off.
