My car has been smelling gas when I start it. One week ago when I started it, it revved to 2000 rpm and I think that's when it started smelling gas when I start it. Noew it's smelling gas when I start it and through the air vents... I have changed the fuel regulator and the other problem could be the injectors. Does anyone have an idea what other problem could cause this..........

 

What codes are you getting?

 

I have this problem as well, I was told it could be the evap canister.

 

It, can be alot of things like fuel injectors, fuel rails leaking, evap cannister and Fuel filter. I would pull out the codes first and check back with the answer. I think its' the fuel filter it's not filter and that's allowing the fuel to come in to your vents.

 

P0100 and P1335. This stated b4 the CEL came ON......

 

P0100 is MAF
P1335 is crank pos sensor (REF).

I just started smelling fuel as well on start up. Part of mine is leaking exhaust I think, at the muffler, getting back into the cabin. I also plan to clean the MAF.

 

What is the problem with the canister, if this is it?

 

does it smell like burn gas? like from the exhaust?
or like gas falling on hot parts and burning?

if you smell gas, pop the hood, look and sniff. if needed do it while the car is still running
