Destroyed 3rd gear and Diff Bearings?

SO last week going around a turn in 2nd gear just about 2500 rpms. My Tranny just went kaput. It sounded like something was dragging on the ground except i could feel it in my shifter. Limped it into my garage and jacked the car up. Nothing is wrong with what I can see. Get it towed to the local shop. Totally blew out 3rd gear. So then we had it towed to the local transmission shop. They figured blown 3rd gear and also diff bearings So my 5 spd. tranny that I put it in february is getting rebuilt....FOR FREE I was involved in a rear end collsion two weeks ago. Insurance figured it was from the accident. I don't even have to pay a deductible. Anyway can you guys give me some more insight on our transmissions? Who has had the rebuilt and what not. I told them I want ONLY Nissan OEM parts. Any other steps I should take?

maybe possibly get a new better clutch than the stock one while its already taken apart unless you know you dont need one.

My exedy Stage 1 was slipping but not anymore. I'm gonna talk to them about possibly putting in a new rear main seal.

Get your flywheel lightened at a good machine shop or find a Fidanza, you won't be dissapointed. A stock 5th gen clutch is all you need.
