Where is park/neutral switch?

Between the FSM, Chilton's and Haynes, there's only one decent picture of the park/neutral switch, and I can't figure out where it's located. I would have thought right near the firewall on the driver's side, but it doesn't seem to be there. They Haynes picture looks like it's near a heater hose, but that doesn't seem right either?

Maybe somebody stole it...?

Unless he is referring to the switch on a manual trans. That is on the bottom of the trans, looks like a black round plug. This is the one that usually causes a CEL when not functioning properly. But we really don't have enough info form the OP to determine this.
