Hey guys, My max with 127000k is gonna get some cleaning up this weekend. I'm going to clean the throttle body, IACV, EGR Valve and regrease my starter. So I was wondering what kind of difference can I expect from doing these procedures?

Also I plan to do this all in one outting, so what do you think the best order to do this in would be?
I was thinking like 1.) remove throttle body clean that 2.) Remove IACV clean that 3.) Remove ERG clean that 4.) Replace numbers 1-3 and then do the starter. Do you think that would be the most logical order? Let me know.

 

you answered your own question haha. yea thats the best order but do the starter while the TB and intake parts are out, that will just make it a little easier to get at the starter.

as for differences. you will mainly notice smoother running and a much better idle. if your egr and TB are really gunked up you should find you have better acceleration (smoother) and slightly better milage.

 

So you mean to tell me youre gona put the TB, IACV and EGR pipe back on THEN work on the starter ? good luck

basically take TB, then IACV and then EGR off, do the starter, put the starter back on clean the 3 parts u took off, put egr back on , put iacv back on put tb back on

 

And I commend you for regreasing your starter and not buying a new one...it takes about 2 hours to completely clean every piece, grease and put back together, but boy is it smooth.

 

Is regreasing the starter a simple job to do. Wut i mean is like taking it off the car and putting it back on? Today I cranked my engine and i all i heard was m starter spinning then i had to take off the car and turn it back on then it started.

 

This reminds me that I still need to replace that damn belt that squeaks sometimes when I start my car.

 

So re greasing the starter is not as easy as the writeup says?
