what fuse?

What fuse is for the illumination on the auto climate control? My climate control doesn't light up anymore, and I can't figure out what fuse it is. The FSM left me stumped.

I don't think the fuse is the problem here.
If I'm correct the fuse for it is also for all of the other illumination in the car.
If the C/C is the only think that's not illuminated then it's something else.

Yeah, I'm really stumped here. My hazard and rear defrost buttons light up whenever they want to as well. I saw pictures on here of people's climate control lighting up, and it made me realize that mine doesn't.

lol yeah. Mine is actually the same way.
I had a post about this a long time ago. You might find it if you search.
I remember that it was hard to fix, so I just decided that I can live with it.

I love taking stuff apart....

Is it something inside of the climate control itself? I'm ready to rip and tear. It's 35 degrees out today, feels like summer.

Is all the lights are out on the C/C but other dash lights are ok, the likelyhood is a solder joint failure. Open the C/C box and look for hair line cracks on the PCB. The FSM may have a connector point out for the C/C.

No. The leds on the CC and hazards are blown. Solder new ones or get replacement OEM ones to replace. The How-tos are on here somewhere.

Our cars have Clarion radios. The Bose faceplate just means it has Bose amp and speakers. But solder crack problem is industry wide. I fixed the A/C controller in a Volvo 940, wiper controller in a Suburban by repairing solder joints. So Nissan is not alone in this.

here's the real question: what type of bulbs are in the CC? They're these tiny little things that have brown bases built onto them.

This does not sound like a problem that changing bulbs will help. I am gussing we are talking about several bulbs being out. The chances of more then one bulb burning out at one time are remote. It sounds like a blown fuse or a problem with one of your connections.

Check fuse 18 - 7.5 amp that is for AC and heater illumination. I would change it regardless how it tests just in case. The power to these lights also goes through the headlight switch so a bad connection in there can cause this problem. If these are OK than it sounds like a bad connection at you CC unit.

nope, I pulled them all out this morning. They're all blown. Confirmed it with my multimeter.
