tranny shifting slow when punching off of start????

well, i looked in how to's and other threads and did'nt see what i was looking for and so i had to post this thread. when its cold, i usually let her warm up a bit before i take off and then i take it easy the first few miles before accelerating fast. i noticed that when i punch it she takes off and then kinda lags before shifting into second and i noticed even when shes warm it shifts kinda slow and sometimes jumps into gear, but never hard. its a 95 with 171,00, gle and i'm wandering if there's a pulley or sensor ( dash is clear ) that may be lagging but still working. or a short maybe??? tranny guru's PLEASE HELP!!! the fluid looks good, and i just had the oil changed at dealer 3 weeks ago. thanks in advance

throttle position sensor is one of the main inputs used on an auto.

So you're saying a manual trans would be shifting slow if the TPS were improperly calibrated? Wouldn't it be the user, not the TPS in that case?

For what it's worth, I've made the observation that more A32's have an improperly calibrated TPS than you'd imagine, specifically reading on the low side (about 92% to 94% with the pedal to the floor). Including mine (but I won't adjust it until I get some other things fixed or it's pointless).

like what??? you would'nt adjust cause your not sure or what would you look at first??? speed sensor, nah, maf, nah, would probably throw a code on the dash, exhaust, maybe a blockage, i noticed as the day warmed up it ran better but i still feel like its hesitating when i accelate to shift. i punched it going up a hill and thats when i feel like it does'nt want to shift smoothly. goddamn, worst time of the year for this crap to happen......
