Read this thread
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=45274 Did you reconnect everything you may have disconnected? The above thread will tell you how to get the trouble code, and may also offer how to fix. Good luck.

What year? BTW, do you have a pic? Without you knowing what a MAF or Mass Air Flow Sensor is, this is going to be difficult to explain.

*my experience*
Yea, that happens sometimes when you start up the engine without completing the job
It happened to me...I followed ALL the instructions on how to reset the check engine light and it STILL STAYED ON
One day tho, it just went off! I thought it had blown but from that point on, it worked like normal. soooooo my advice is to do the reseting of the ecu, and just ignore it until it either goes off or get your check up (then blame it on them) lol! nah, don't blame them, that's a hon-duh move!!

sounds like the maf to me, lets see a pic, we can direct u on how to fix it, theres always the chance one of the 3 prongs has come loose and may need additional solder to hold it on

If your car still runs I would assume you have a 95 and it is the ambient air temperature sensor that is disconnected. You'll need to remove the old sensor from the old stock air box and reconnect it then reset your ecu. Get a Haynes manual too. Hope this helps. Again, post your year, or pics if you have em.

REDmax, sweet sig picture.. okay this thread, before not to damage the maf meter.. This can be damaged by the K&N oil filter if you oiled it. the oil has to dry. i would let it sit over nite if possible to make sure its dry. if not, MAF is sensitive, reset the ECU so the light will go off.

there is one plug that will not plug into anything. i can't remember what that piece is called, but I just zip tied mine to something away from the engine block. check all your hoses and make sure everything is tight and nothing is leaking. it really does sound like your Mass Air Flor sensor though. I think if you have a leak somewhere...your check engine light will come on. if your car can't idle...they a hose came off...

If it is your MAF I think you have to get that reset by the dealer. I'm not sure, but think I remember reading that somewhere. Good luck.

DId you read my earlier post? Maybe that plug is for the temp. sensor that you can get out of your old stock air box. Just hook it back up and tie wrap it near the filter. Then read and reset your ecu codes. Let us know what happens.

hmm.. I'm having the exact same problem. I reset the ecu and still got that error message. About how long after you reset the ecu did it disappear?

Resetting the ECU should do the job. That's what I did after the cone intake install.
