Brake light question
Posting this for my friend who has a modded 4th gen.

He has an e-brake light on his dash and even when the e-brake is let go, he claims it sticks.

I'm assuming stuck caliper?

Any input?

How does he know it's sticking? Just by the brake light?

Check the parking brake cables, they're commonly damaged by people raising the car by the trailing arms.

if just the light is on in the dashboard, it could be the ebrake switch, which is an easy enough fix

Check brake fluid level. Ask if the battery light is on at the same time (alty problem).

I doubt it's a stuck caliper that's tripping the light, IIRC the light switch is in the brake handle mechanism itself.

The switch is there, yes, but some people like to think that the brake light can diagnose service brake problems beyond fluid level...

stuck caliper wont trip the e-brake light, or any other 'idiot light'

And some people like to think that altezza tail lights look good, that doesn't mean they're not utter morons.

My vote = check fluid level, which, in affect, will probably mean pad replacement is imminent.
