Anyone using 9004 yellow headlights?
Anyone using 9004 yellow headlights?
Hey guys,
My wife's 96 stock lighting is terrible and we don't have the money to spend on an HID system. Currently we are using Slyvania XtraVisions. They are better that the previous SilverStars, but still not great. The lighting is bad in poor visibility (rain, snow). It also may be that I am used to my HID's on my 95 and the 96 stock lighting now seems really weak.
So, I am wondering if anyone is using yellow 9004 headlight bulbs? And if that would improve poor weather visibility? I know Luminics is a good brand that doesn't overpower the system (won't fry the wires).
I don't want to mess with a 9007 upgrade, so that is out, don't tell me about it please.
Any thoughts/comments?
David

IMO all the 9004 bulbs i ever used... which was about 5 or 6 different sets including yellow all weather bulbs were minimal in difference.
HID>r34's (w/diodes and relays)>9007>9004. And w/that increase in quality comes an increase in price and effort of installation, relatively speaking.
One other thing that you can do is add different lamps. buy a set of hella driving lamps and but them in the fog location. You can get a lot of good pics of beam patterns from http://www.rallylights.com/ Homepage

It's really up to you which way to go... Good Luck

After more research, I am not even considering these yellow lights. They are illegal in my state and they would be for my wife's car. So, I don't want her to get pulled over for it.
any cop will tell you, if it did'nt come stock in the car than its illegal. standard white's no matter how bright are always ok, thats straight from a local cops mouth to your ears kids. reason being is the other colors such as red and yellow etc get confused with emergency vehicles, so its your choice. i drove around with blue xenons for 2 years in pa with no problem, i just got sick of them so i went back to whites.

So I guess we'll stick with what we've got.
