front end is popping when i turn my wheels

ok i thought it was th efront axle, no big deal but today i was sitting in my car at work with it started and i began to (out of boredom) turn my wheels back and forth when it popped really really loud, everytime i would turn my wheels all the way to the right it would pop, i thought if it was the cv it would only pop when you are rolling, i know i need a new lower control arm bushing so could that be the prob or is it still the axle?

Your springs may be shifting on the mounts....its most likely because you have some mosture in between the seats and the springs...My k sports are doing it right now....

does it sound like the spring is binding up and then it pops? If so you need to replace your strut bearings.

it didn't start doing it untill the other night when it was icy, i was ****ing around in the ice doing a donut and had my wheels cut all the way to the left then when i got out of the donut and started going straight it started popping, i stopped, backed up, and pulled forward and it had stopped, then i decided to make a couple cruises and eveytime i would turn it would start popping again

Check your swaybar end links, that's most likely the culprit. If you haven't replaced them yet, replace them...

yeah jack it up and firmly shake up and down and left and right.could be the lower ball joint i know they sometimes make a popping sound or even the links as said before.fix your controll arm bushings than check it out.

well i had new oem balljoints installed about 3 months ago, and i had it aligned the same time, however the guy at the alignment shop told me i needed a new lower control arm bushing befor it will be aligned 100%, it drives great right now it just pops when i turn, i think i will grab up some sway bar bushings tomorrow and see what happens along with a lower control arm bushing, it is just in the drivers side if i havn't said that b4

ok i just now got under there and had my girl turn the wheels back and forth and i noticed the boot to my rack and pinion was split in half and my lower control arm is moving alittle when the wheels go back and forth, it is like moving from left to right about a quarter of an inch and is pulling out alittle, is it suppose to move that much and would this cause the pop pop pop i can hear and feel???

popping

i had a popping noise from the front tires. i took it to a body shop and they said it was the bearings. The bearings were replaced and the popping noise went away.

could be your swaybar end links, sway bar bushings, or strut mount and bearing(the plastic piece) or check out the sticky in suspension thread could be your springs rubbing. I got the same problem, Ive checked everything so I think its the springs. On your stock springs there were those "sleeves" that u put on where the spring coils touch, if they are rubbing that could be what u are hearing, Im almost positive that is it for me. But if u said your steering rack is f****d, fix that FIRST then sway bar bushing and then try the sticky thread.

I just got the same problem, it is the strut bearing as stated before, http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasit...-p-189729.html this is the part as found on courtesyparts.com.

Update: Replaced the bearing today, no more popping.
