00VI or ECU?

I'm looking to put some more money into my max and was wondering from experience which is should i do first....00VI or an ECU upgrade? I plan on doing both but i don't have the money for both of them right away, so should i get the new intake manifold and then tune it?

if your going to get both then start with the intake manifold, then tune later.

You can benefit from the manifold even without a tune, but once you get the tune you can pull more power then, rather than doing things the opposite way

Definitly do an 00VI first. Consider getting a VAFC-II and use it as your RPM switch and tune it at the same time.

The only bad part about that is you dont get the rev extended like the jwt will .

im new to this but the 00vi swap is just an intake manifold swap right? or is there more too it because this seems to be the big thing to do to maximas

you will achieve much better top end. Its not as easy as it may seem. you'll need to get the parts 00-01 coil packs or grind down the rear valve cover for the 4th gen coils so sit properly, rigging up the erg port. there are many right ups and many ways to do it. Taking everything apart is probably the most troublesome part of the install. After all is said you'll pick up some good top end from it, combine it with a tune and your good to go!

junk yard. for sale section. if you know of a junk yard in your area. see if you can make a deal for the manifold and various parts.

Not true, JWT knows how to get around the '99 issue. However, I wouldn't give JWT the business when the EU can do what the JWT can do and more for the same price pretty much. And you don't have to sit around twiddling your thumbs waiting for JWT to complete the work and ship it back to you. But, you have to have the knowledge to tune it yourself or pay a shop to do it for you.
Oh, and a little punctuation would be nice...

I've got a few kickin' around............ :Hide:

And to the OP, I'm local, so I can give you an even better price than what's in my sig, and I'll take care of you if you need it installed as well.

HUGE not to mention, after all is said and done you won't have a cookie cutter tune.

Well it will depend on a few things, But $50 less for a pick-up, and I'll buy you a lap dance at alex's , so give me a call whenever you get a chance & we'll go from there, my cell is in my sig.
