I currently have a 97 maxima with a knock sensor that went bad, and I have a 99 knock sensor from a different maxima. Would the 99 knock sensor work with my 97 maxima? I checked the ohms on the two sensors and they seem to differ a bit.

 

If they differ, than maybe one's bad?

I think there's a difference in 95-98 vs 00-up. Unless it's one 'em "late-model" '99s that share the same ECU as the 00?

 

No difference in A32 (95-99) knock sensors.

 

Just play it safe, and get a NEW one on ebay for $60.

 

If he has a perfectly working KS already, why waste money?

 

I seemed to be a little confused. He tested the new KS against his known BAD KS. That's why the ohms differed. Never mind, lol

I have a KS from a 2002--works fine.

 

I gotta do this SOB this weekend! Picked one up from Autovalue for 49 bucks + tax. Any tips ?
