I have had a hard start problem with my max for a long while. i have read the many many posts on here about hard/no start and the numerous possibilities it could be. I never figured it out. Even took it to Nissan before. Now my car won't start at all but after trying to turn it over, I can here a series of clicking noises which sounds like it is coming from injectors or at least that area of the engine. What is that sound? Is that normal because I have never noticed it before.

 

VQ injectors are normally 'loud' compared to others.

 

The noise you hear should come on when you turn your ignition key on and just as Pmohr stated, it is normal. Just means they are working properly.......

The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) clicks when you turn the key on as well.
