just yesterday the car stalled when i was driving. heard a click sound and the steering wheel lockedmanaged to pull over ok but the car wont start at all. if i open the switch radio turns on but if i turn the switch as if i was turning on the car i get nothing its like if there was no battery in the car not even the lights in the gauge cluster turn on i cant even put my windows up. i just wanted to know how to remove it and if you need any special tools to remove it?

there is a section when cranking the key to start the car the radio/clock will not power on ( the spot between accessory and crank for ignition)...

if not, ignition switch is easy...
4 long screws holding the steering rack cover ( you access them from the underside of the colum), you will need a long thin phillips ( + ) screw driver.. * have fun putting it back after

once the cover removed, you will see the ignition switch on the left side of the colum, it unclip it and remove the 2 smaller phillips screws holding it it..

but before doing all that, try cranking the key by jiggling it..that should work( to start the car)..

good luck

No, the FSM says there are 4 screws, but there really are 6. I wasted a lot of time figuring that out the first time I took it off.

Something tells me you have an alternator and battery issue, not the ignition switch.
