Weird sound from the fan
My ('98 SE) Max has auto-climate control.
Lately, I found out whenever it is on low speed (like one or two fan leaf on the display lit up), I can hear a continuous tik-tik-tik sound from the passenger side outlet. When I turn up the fan speed, the sound goes away.
Any ideas? Can it be the fan bearing?

Every 4th Gen Max/I30 I've ever heard has this issue. There was even a TSB issued because of it. Basically it consisted of an insulated plastic cover for the fan motor to muffle the noiseNot really a fix in my opinion...I have learned to live with it.

Never heard it or even of it, and I've worked on a fair amount of A32's...

That TSB is worthless. Did not help at all. Might as well stuff a rag around the fan to reduce the noise. The only thing that works for me is to put in a new fan motor. Seems like they have improved the design. The replacement fan from Nissan has been running for over 80KM without any noise. The original one made noise at around 30KM or so.

About $120 five years ago from internet dealer.
Replacing fan motor is pretty easy. I removed the glove box and three bolts on the fan assembly. Space is tight to wiggle the fan motor out. I had to remove a plastic nut at the floor where the dash board attach to the frame body. This gives enough flex so I can get the fan motor out.

Yes, it sorta surprised me that a new fan motor was not recommended in the TSB, only the band-aid cover, which of course doesn't really fix anything, only hides it.
