T3T4 AR50 CUSTOM TURBO CHARGER KIT

I found this turbo kit on Ebay snd I was just wondering if anyone has tried this kit yet? The Turbo manifold and downpipe are not included, but it still seems like an excellent deal. Take a look at it and let me know what you guys think.

If you searched you would learn that i am running this kit on my car. You would also find out what all i had to buy and change to make this kit work.

wouldn't you have to get bigger injectors and like an e-manage or something

Bigger injectors are needed if you want to keep it safe. I am still running stock injectors but at 95% duty cycle and at 55psi of fuel pressure. You can get away with it but i would suggest it.

NO im running everything that came with the kit minus the bov. I will dyno this spring once i replace clutch. My personal best at the track is not all that great with it but shows there is progress to be had. I ran a best e/t 14.1@101 but my best trap was 15.3@110 so the power is there. I will have more info later but i have the kit.

Hmmmm. What other mods did you have at the time? I'm finding it a bit weird that you were able to push a 14.1 with that turbo setup...........

why would you find that a bit weird when guys are running 12s all motor and 13s with just a few bolt on parts? kzoosho's car has a lot quicker times than a 14.1 in it if he got traction.

For some reason the search feature didn't seem to work when I was using FireFox, however
it works when I use internet Explorer. Anyhow, here is a link to the thread that kzoosho is referring to.

Thats very nice of you. Thank you kindly.
I just had one question. What was the total cost of putting this system together? Please include the labor cost for installation as well.

I would say all together about 1600. Thats for the safcII and the feed pipe and down pipe.

Yeah, I know.........I just didn't expect that much of a gain I guess from the"ebay" turbo since everyone is always quick to knock it down. I too agree that a better time could be gotten with a better wheel combo.......

Since i see you are in Chicago. You should come up this year to the track that me and neal and a couple other org members run at. Then you can see it in person. I will have better tires . So my time will be a whole lot better.

What guys are running 12's all-motor with a 3.0? (no juice either) The best I've seen is a mid 13@ 101-102 and thats with every mod available, weight reduction and slicks, even those are very few.

I really don't see much more of a gain without some bigger injectors. Tom (t6378tp) maxed out his stock injectors @ about 225whp, so unless he upgrades his injectors he won't get much better times.

And for the record I do not buy the 110mph trap speed.....especially when he ran a 14.1@101, which is what I expect from his set-up. 110mph is mid 12 second power and with slicks low 12's, there is no way he is getting there with stock injectors. Now upgrade the injectors to some 555cc's and now were talking.

To the OP, my advise would be to read some turbo information and spend alot of time in the supercharged/turbocharged section of the forums here. I think if you tally the cost up of a reliable turbo build you will find yourself in the 2000-2500 dollar range at a minimum. I was looking into doing a build and spent months saving and learning to weld and in the end i found out its just too much money. You'll need bigger injectors, Z32 MAF, Stage 2 clutch, better tires, Wideband, AFC of some sort if not EU, and then the turbo stuff. And nothing against ebay turbos, because they are getting better, but remember you get what you pay for.

And after all that, you need a tune before you can drive that sick puppy safely.

When i was doing this i estimated 2400 with an ebay turbo, doing all my own pipes, not including upgraded tires or the Wideband. G/l

How am I out of the loop?? Ok there is 1 3.0L that I have seen (not a 3.5) and I know about the 3.5's running 12's.

That wasn't my point anyway. I was wondering about the air/fuel situation and what he was going to do about it.

That seems to be the only guy in the 12's all motor on a 3.0 liter so i wouldn't call it the norm and he has ,like I said, EVERY mod available and slicks to boot!

Damn impressive nonetheless!

Ceasars Chariots' car was fastest N/A 3.0 I've read about until I read about DandyMax's car. Just because a couple of 3.0's get amazing times doesn't mean its the average times. From what I see a mid 14 is the norm for a N/A 3.0.

(this is directed towards mazzivart)

Dandymax went 12.83 in his NA 3.0 - he had headwork and cams. I went 13.43 with pretty typical bolt ons (intake, ypipe, mevi, ecu, catback is all I had) and no weight reduction aside from light wheels and a CF hood. 96sleeper went 13.7 on street tires, etc.

my point was not that these times are the norm but that they are not unheardof, and that it shouldn't surprise anyone that a car which is capable of such times could run a 14.1 with a little boost thrown in the mix. i wasn't at the track to see kzoosho's runs but I'm taking him at his word about the 110 trap speed. I've met the guy and I wouldn't think he'd lie about it

edit: I also had the passenger seat removed. i don't bother with that crap any more as it only weighs about 40lbs.

See now that sounds about right...nice time btw.

I was just kinda of offended by the kid saying I am out "of the loop" when he probably knows nothing and making it sound like 12 second n/a 3L's were normal because he read one guy ran a 12. The guy already was caught in a lie by saying mid 12's when it was a 12.8, which is not mid 12's. Mid 13 second 3.0's are rare let alone 12 second ones as you are well aware of.

oh and I am not saying he lied, but maybe it was a computer glitch or something.

I would love to see he timeslips. That way we can see if it makes sense, but if he is using stock injectors, which he is, I just find it impossible to make enough power to get those kind of traps. Thats why I said 101 sounds perfect for maxed out stock injectors
