So i got some leather door inserts I bought from a friend. But i noticed that when i went to take my old inserts out which are fabric the fabric only comes off not the whole insert. So i wondering if there is anyway around this to install these inserts?

 

Pull off the fabric, ans use the tabs on the backside of the inserts to line up where you need to cut slots into the door panel. Cut the slots, mount the new insert and fold the tabs to keep them in place.

I just did this on another .org members car this weekend. Use a screwdriver to peel back the carpeting. Next, BE SURE TO USE A RAZOR KNIFE TO CUT AROUND THE EDGE OF THE AREA WHERE THE INSERT WILL GO, otherwise you will ruin the entire panel. Then, take a scraper to scrape off the foam padding and styrofoam backing. Mark the holes for the tabs, cut the holes, and put the inserts in.
