So i have r34's. And I must get really stupid at 2 AM.

I pulled my lens off and started sanding w/only 2000 grit attatched to a rubber flat sanding block to get bugs and slight interstate pitting off. I wet sanded this for about 2-3 minutes (w/only 2000). It was hazy and now it's still hazy after trying to polish w/Meguire's PlastiX.



I guess i'll try wet 600, wet1000, wet2000, polish w/3M rubbing compound then Meguire's PlastiX

90 degree angles right? What motion? Up, Up, Up, Left, Left, Left, or,
Up and Down then Left and Right (back and forth) ????

How long should i sand w/each grit? 5 min's each grit or like 15 or more? ????

No need to go down to 600 unless there is a lot of discoloration or damage, scratches etc...

Did you hand buff? Try an orbital/random orbital with a foam/microfiber pad.

Pattern? I just sand...I never see a difference.

IMO, Stick with > 1000grit, anything lower can cause deep scratching. If you want to go through all of them, you sand until the scratches from the lower grit disappear and it becomes smoother. Probably 3-4min each.

 

You wont get a nice glass like appearance from hand buffing.

 

Start with WET 1500 grit. Keep it moist and go in back and forth motion.
After a few minutes, switch up to 2000 grit WET and use in the opposite direction.
Again, probably 3-4 minutes, move on up to 2500 WET and go back and forth.

It dosen't really matter which direction you start with as long as you change direction when you change sandpaper.

Make sure the paper is WET by letting it soak in water for apx. 10 minutes.
Use your orbital to apply polishing compound.
You will have to finish with plastic-x or whatever.
Hope that helps.
do this when sober your results will improve dramatically.

 

Just get a mothers powerball, it fits in your drill. It worked good for me after wet-sanding w/ 600 grit
